Description

This course will focus on updated IRS procedures taxpayers and practitioners may use to either voluntarily withdraw or voluntarily disclose incorrect Employee Retention Credit claims.  The voluntary withdrawal procedures were introduced in Revenue Bulletin 2023-193 on October 19, 2023, and the voluntary disclosure procedures were set forth in Revenue Bulletin 2024-3 on December 21, 2023.  The voluntary programs offer taxpayers an opportunity to correct previously filed returns that are incorrect while offering penalty relief from filing erroneous or potentially fraudulent returns.  The opportunity to participate in these voluntary programs and benefit from reduced repayment and penalty relief expire on March 22, 2024 at 11:59pm.   This course provides an in-depth discussion of the programs and opportunities available to taxpayers and practitioners, and was updated on 1/10/24.
